A minimalistic audio-based social media app designed for "yapping" your heart out. We listen and we don't judge.
THE YAPP
This app combines minimal interface design, audio interaction, and social media dynamics. A black-and-white platform allows users to record and share short voice messages in a simple feed, similar to apps like BeReal.
The project focuses on reducing visual pressure by prioritizing voice, encouraging users to share thoughts and stories without fear of judgment. Inspired by the phrase “We listen and we don’t judge,” popularized on TikTok, it presents a more intimate, audio-first alternative to traditional social media.
From there, we moved on to first HTML-based wireframes to test basic structure and functionality. These were followed by more detailed, design-focused wireframes, gradually refining and developing the user interface.
We started the interface design with a simple visual sitemap to understand the structure of the app. Using post-its, we wrote down all the key interactions to see what users need and how everything connects. This helped us keep the app intuitive and plan the layout more clearly.
